Biography
I have been coaching youth sports like football, basketball, baseball and volleyball for over 17 years. I've been coaching volleyball exclusively for the last 14 years and this is my 10th year with Frisco Flyers. My coaching experience ranges from all age divisions as well as any experience level. Over the last couple of seasons, I've been building a college contact list and creating relationships which resulted in players continuing their playing careers at colleges like Bethel College, Nebraska-Kearney, Lane College. I'll continue to use those relationships to create options for players to play in college and receive an education.
Philosophy:
Teaching players the game is more important than just coaching them. I break things down to the simplest form and explain it in a way where anyone can understand and apply. I am big on players self-analyzing and understanding the “why did this happen when I did this”. Once they understand the causality, you start to see self-correction, which makes players smarter as well as successful.
Expectations:
Members of our team should anticipate playing in top-tier divisions against the nation's best competitors. We often embrace challenges by willingly competing in higher divisions or even age brackets, aiming to enhance our athletes' skills and readiness for competition across all scholastic levels. Players should be prepared to demonstrate dependability, diligence, and coachability and display a positive attitude during practice sessions and throughout the season. After all, we love this game and want the players to continue having fun and enjoying their journey and time spent together on the court.
